my komodo island trip
finnaly i can start my trip to komodo island, that beautiful island placed in indonesia. Komodo lies between the substantially larger neighboring islands Sumbawa to the west and Flores to the east. The island is famous not only for its heritage of convicts but also for the unique fauna which roam it. The Komodo dragon, the world's largest living lizard, takes its name from the island. A type of monitor lizard, it inhabits Komodo and some of the smaller surrounding islands.

The Komodo National Park Authority recognised the need for permanent moorings in Komodo National Park to safeguard the coral reefs and enhance boat safety. Sponsorship for 10 big boat moorings and 14 small boat moorings was raised in 2003 and the moorings installed. Since then the number of boats using the Park has increased considerably and additional moorings are required.
